This year we held our convention in the BEAUTIFUL HORSE COUNTRY of AIKEN, SC. It helped us all "Tighten the Reins" and do the very best job we can do as court reporters. Our convention was held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Aiken nestled right next to the Aiken Mall and close to many, many restaurants.

In true Steeplechase style, on Wednesday morning, we had a HAT PARADE judged by the judges of the Second Judicial Circuit for a very special prize! Participants designed their own special hats!

As tradition dictates we held our annual auction on Wednesday afternoon.

Our Thursday night banquet was a very special treat. We had dinner at Newberry Hall and then walked across Newberry Street to the Aiken Community Playhouse for a showing of "Time Crime." The Aiken Downtown Development Association went above and beyond coordinating this for us .

Our service project for this convention was the Cumbee Center of Aiken. This is a shelter for abused persons.

We all left a little more knowledgeable and energized than when we came.
